PacsCube Instructions

Radiology images on a CD generated by the PacsCube system can be accessed on any IBM compatible 486 computer with a CD drive. It is recommended that any unnecessary Windows programs be closed while viewing a scan as this will increase the speed with which you can move from image to image.

How To View a Scan:

  1. The PacsCube system provides the software (eFilmLite) on the CD that is needed to access a scan.  By inserting the CD into your computer’s CD drive, you will be initiating the viewing program.  The program is automatic and will take approximately 15-30 seconds to begin.

  2. A box entitled, “eFilmLite” will appear on your screen listing the scans on the CD.  Depending on the patients and studies requested, more than one scan may be listed in your CD.  Using your mouse, highlight the scan that you wish to access and click once on “View”.  This will open the scan.

  3. Initially, the images are defaulted to appear two per screen.  Read below to change your screen layout.  The image that you are currently viewing will be entirely encased by a green light.  Each image is part of a series.  The scroll bar on the right side of the image will move the images at two per second through the series.  Each image and series is numbered, and the number appears on the upper left side of each image.  Using the toolbar that appears at the top of your images will enable you to manipulate the images and view the series as a movie.  Commands are listed below.

Window System Requirements:

  • Windows XP, NT, 2000, 98 or 95

  • CD-ROM drive

  • 8 MB RAM

  • Windows supported printer

  • Note: PacsCube does not currently run on the Mac platform
