H. Dirk Sostman, M.D.

Dr. H. Dirk Sostman is Professor and Chair of Radiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, and Radiologist-in-Chief at the Weill-Cornell campus of the New York - Presbyterian Hospital.

He received his M.D. degree in 1976 from Yale University School of Medicine, followed by medical internship, radiology residency, nuclear medicine residency and thoracic imaging fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital.  He was on faculty at Yale until 1987, where he was Associate Professor and Chief of MRI.  He was then Duke University, where he was Professor and Vice Chair, until 1995.

Scientific Advisory Panels have included the RNM Study Section of the NIH, the DMG Special Emphasis Panel (Chair) of the NIH, and the NIH Commission, Academy of Radiology Research.

Dr. Sostman has been principal investigator on several NIH and foundation grants and is author or co-author of over 100 original papers as well as numerous reviews, chapters and abstracts.  He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.
